Third period was dodge ball with rocks, 
and if you were hit in the head and cried, 
you were reasonable and they enrolled you 
in AP history or math, but if you were hit 
in the head and didn't cry, you were advanced 
to dodge ball with guns, when if you were hit 
in the head and didn't die, you were either 
an angel or meant for a life in crime, 
is how it was explained to me years later
by a woman with the most beautiful wings,
I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing, 
as I am, or into it differently, as I am not
